Award Program

   OVERVIEW

   Since 1999, the post has been utilizing a combined awards program. The post uses the standardized Learning-for-Life Awards Program but also combines it with their own. The program awards cadets for various achievements and recognitions they earned through participating in the program. The awards are represented as cloth, military-style, award ribbons. The awards are worn on the cadets uniform during formal events, or also known as his Class "A" uniform.

	National Law Enforcement Explorer Academy Recognition - Learning-For-Life Award -	For attending the National Explorer Academy.
	Cadet of the Year Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For being awarded as the Cadet of the Year.
	National Law Enforcement Conference Recognition  - Learning-For-Life Award -	For attending a National Explorer Conference.
	Gold Commendation Award - Post 3049 Award -	For receiving a formal commendation from the Local, County, or State Government.
	Life Saving Award - Post 3049 Award -	For saving a life while on duty as a cadet.
	Eagle/ Gold Award Recognition - Learning-For-Life Award -	For achieving the BSA Eagle Scout or GSA Gold Scout award.
	State Law Enforcement Explorer Academy Recognition - Post 3049 Award -	For Participating in a state explorer academy.
	Leadership Award - Post 3049 Award -	For a cadet who demonstrates an extraordinary leadership at an early point in the program.
	Perfect Attendance Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For attending every regular scheduled meeting in a 1 year period.
	Silver Commendation Award - Post 3049 Award -	For receiving a formal commendation from the Police Department or PBA.
	Law Enforcement Training Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For completing a basic 60 hour sequence of courses in law enforcement.
	Drug Abuse Prevention Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For completing 56 hours of training/ work in drug abuse prevention.
	Crime Prevention Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For completing 41 hours of training/ work in crime prevention.
	Honor Guard Recognition - Post 3049 Award -	For being a member or past member of the Honor Guard.
	Emergency Preparedness Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For being First Aid/ CPR certified and participating in a disaster drill.
	Ride-a-Long Service Award - Post 3049 Award -	For dedicating 100 volunteer hours of time in the Ride-a-Long Program.
	Law Enforcement Service Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For dedicating 100 volunteer hours of law enforcement service.
	Community Service Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For dedicating 100 volunteer hours of community service.
	Tenure Award - Learning-For-Life Award -	For 1 year of service of as police cadet.

 

   ADDITIONAL RIBBONS

   Each additional award is represented as a 3/16" bronze star that is affixed to the ribbon.
   Five additional awards are represented as a 3/16" silver star that is affixed to the ribbon.
